If you want to find the greatest songs from the best artists of our generation, download Spotify. It’s a great app for finding all our favorite songs, selected by us to match our listening tastes and preferences. And for many of us, it’s a go-to place for everything we need.
One of the most popular issues with the app right now is “Spotify can’t play this song right now.
Some people may find that Spotify cannot play some of their favorite songs on certain platforms. These are often related to the DRM, or digital rights management, technology that Spotify uses for licensing.

Spotify Can’t Play This Right Now Working Fix 1
If you are having the “Spotify can’t play this right now” issue on a computer, a quick solution for this is to:
Open the File Explorer on Windows > select This PC > then search for “Spotify” > select the one that has the file image next to it > select “Users” > select your username > then delete the file with the name localfiles.bnk.
Fix 2: Block Spotify’s Ads via Window’s Hosts File
For others, this issue has been resolved by uninstalling the Spotify application.

Fix 3: Change Default Sound Device
In case the other fixes don’t work for you, here is another one that could help. Go to the Control Panel on your PC >> select Hardware and Sound >> click on Sound >> click on the Default Device >> open Properties >> Advanced >> change the format to something higher or lower >> click Apply >> from here, you can just set the quality to the highest possible for improved audio quality.

Fix 4: Disable Hardware Acceleration
Hardware acceleration can sometimes cause problems that prevent the page from rendering correctly. Sometimes, it’s the fix that works.
Go to Settings >> click Advanced Settings >> then scroll down and Disable Hardware Acceleration.
You should try listening to music on Spotify again to see if it works now.
Fix 5: Do A Thorough Reinstall Of Spotify
If you receive the “Spotify can’t play this right now” error, it may be due to some update you’re installing. To fix it, you might want to do a full uninstall of the Spotify app to see if that fixes it.
Deletes all previous traces of the current Spotify installation and setup. Tries a clean installation of the Spotify app again.
I’ve used this method a couple of times on my PC and it always works. If you don’t know what your app data is and where your %appdata% is, use the search box at the top of your screen. Type %AppData% in the area and click enter. This will open the folder for app data. Look through and delete anything like Spotify in the window that opens. You may also delete any folders in the local or C:\Users\*USERNAME*\AppData\Local\Spotify\Storage folder.
Fix 6: Reset Default Device To Below 192000Hz
This worked for me as well: Go to Control Panel >> select Sound >> click on the Advanced tab, adjust it to anything below 192000Hz and see if it works.
Our customers have complained about this and we have fixed the problem. So, there is no longer any need to manually increase the playback speed of audio files.
Fix 7: Download From the Windows Store
Deleting and downloading the Spotify app directly from the Windows App Store instead of the website fixed it pretty quickly, so we would recommend that you do it if other fixes don’t work.
Fix 8: Change the High-Quality Music Streaming Setting on Android, iPhone, and Computer
The reason for the Spotify can’t play this song right now error is likely because the songs in question are not available in your country and/or the songs are not available on your subscribed plan.
To improve the quality of the music on your computer, open the Spotify app and click on your name in the top-right corner menu. Then select Settings and change the streaming quality to something lesser (such as Automatic). Restart your computer and see if it works.
To improve the sound quality on your iPhone and Android phone, open the Spotify app and go to Settings and select Music Quality. Select Automatic and exit the app. If this doesn’t work for you, please let me know how it goes.
